Is it reprehensible to recite the well-known Prophetic invocations (adhkar) – such as tasbih (glorification) and Ayatul-Kursi (the Verse of the Throne) – during times when prayer is prohibited, by analogy with the reprehensibility of praying during these times?

Dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and reciting the Quran are not disliked during the times when it is disliked to perform prayers. Allah has legislated dhikr morning and evening. It is authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he recited a collection of adhkar (remembrances) after the Fajr prayer, and he encouraged dhikr after the Asr and Fajr prayers. The Prophet used to remember Allah in all his states. Dhikr with the tongue is permissible at all times and is emphasized after the obligatory prayers, and it is recommended after Fajr and Asr. Equating dhikr with prayer in times of dislike is invalid.
