What are the faith-related implications of believing that God is the Creator of the actions of His servants?

Indeed, a servant's belief in God's uniqueness in creation, including the servant's own actions, necessitates witnessing God's Lordship and absolute power. This leads to the servant's submission, reliance, and supplication. The desired outcome is only achieved by witnessing the servant's acquisition of their actions and their occurrence by their own power, thus attributing shortcomings to themselves. The 'middle nation' is described as combining the affirmation of God's perfect wisdom and power with the servant's admission of their sin, which necessitates witnessing Tawhid (monotheism), Sharia (divine law), justice, and wisdom.

Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned thirteen perspectives on creation in disobedience: four for the deviated and eight for the steadfast, the highest of which is the perspective of mercy. The perspectives of wisdom and Tawhid stand out as the most important.

The Perspective of Wisdom: This includes understanding God's wisdom in His decree of good and evil, and that everything that happens has profound wisdom, even if it seems undesirable. It also encompasses the understanding that God is not disobeyed by coercion, and that acts of disobedience have rulings and signs that point to God's Lordship and Oneness. The Perspective of Tawhid: This witnesses God's uniqueness in creation and governance, and that every atom moves by His permission, and that hearts are in His hand, which He turns as He wills. It also affirms that He guides whom He wills and misleads whom He wills by His justice and wisdom. In this perspective, the servant attains the station of "You alone we worship and You alone we ask for help" in knowledge and state, thus establishing Tawhid of Lordship and then ascending to Tawhid of Divinity, where they direct their love, fear, and hope to God alone.
