Is there a faith that bequeaths self-dissatisfaction, and another that bequeaths self-satisfaction, regardless of the deeds performed? And is man’s relationship with God based on love and mercy or on reward and punishment? And how can man coexist with his shortcomings towards God? And does God’s love for His servant continue despite his sins?

The perfection of faith leads to contentment, tranquility, and a good life in this world, as confirmed by Allah’s saying: ﴿Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life.﴾ [An-Nahl: 97] Conversely, turning away from obedience to Allah brings discontent and dissatisfaction, as stated in His saying: ﴿But whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a constricted life.﴾ [Taha: 124]

Feeling deficient in one's duty towards Allah is a good feeling if it motivates striving in obedience. Contentment and tranquility are achieved when the servant knows the vastness of Allah's mercy, and that He, glory be to Him, is appreciative, accepting little and rewarding much, coupled with having a bad opinion of oneself and a good opinion of the Lord.

Reflecting on Allah's attributes, beauty, grace, and blessings bestows upon the servant serenity, tranquility, and contentment.
