Is abortion permissible due to a dream, the presence of a brown line below the abdomen, and the subsequent depression and desire of the wife for abortion, knowing that the pregnancy has not exceeded one week?
Bearing offspring is one of the objectives of the Sharia, for the purpose of increasing the Muslim nation and for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to boast of his followers. "Engaging in sexual relations with desire is better than supererogatory acts of worship" due to its numerous benefits. The sudden change in the wife's attitude regarding pregnancy and childbirth is unusual. The fear she experiences, the dream she saw, and the sensation in her abdomen might be exaggerations from Satan to push you towards abortion. It is advised to refrain from thinking about abortion. The wife should seek refuge in Allah, remember Him, and be diligent in performing ruqya (Islamic exorcism). Abortion is forbidden even if the fetus is in the nuṭfa (sperm-drop) stage. Some scholars permitted it before forty days due to dire necessity, but fear stemming from a dream is not a valid justification for abortion.
