What should I do for God to forgive me and accept my repentance after I deceived a girl and made her believe I loved her, which enabled me to touch her without committing fornication, and she is now telling me, "God is sufficient for me, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs"?

Expiation for sins occurs through sincere repentance, which involves abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving never to return to it. A condition for the acceptance of repentance is that it must occur before the death rattle (ghargarah) and before the sun rises from the west.

Good deeds wipe away bad deeds, and whoever performs good deeds after repentance will have their bad deeds replaced with good deeds by Allah. Among the expiations for sins are: performing ablution thoroughly despite difficulties, taking many steps towards the mosques, and awaiting one prayer after another.

After repentance, one must have a good opinion of Allah, believing that the repentance has been accepted, because having a bad opinion of Allah is among the grave sins. If marriage to the girl is possible after repentance, there is no harm in it. Otherwise, the relationship with her must be severed, along with hastening to marry and keeping company with righteous people.
