Does the Almighty's saying to the angels, "And you did not conceal," mean that what emanated from them were mere thoughts revealed by Allah, and that the discourse clarifies the nature of man and what crossed the minds of the angels?

A Muslim must seek beneficial knowledge for the worship of Allah. The most important thing to study is the Qur'an and what helps in reflecting upon it and understanding it from reliable books of tafsir (exegesis), with attention to the sciences and interpretations of the Salaf (pious predecessors). At the beginning of seeking knowledge, a Muslim should first identify the truth and the correct interpretation, without getting preoccupied with doubts and weak opinions. They should adhere to the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, because doubts can affect the heart. The fundamental principle in interpreting the Qur'an is its literal meaning, and a Qur'anic word is not interpreted symbolically or metaphorically unless there is a strong indication that shifts it to a figurative meaning. We advise continuing to learn and read reliable tafsir books such as Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Al-Jalalayn, Fath al-Qadir, Tafsir al-Sa'di, Adwa' al-Bayan, Aysar al-Tafasir, and Zubdat al-Tafsir.
