What is the ruling on wiping over a sock if it slips down due to movement and is then pulled back up without being removed?

Wiping over socks is a matter of differing opinions. The Hanbalis permitted it on condition that the sock stays firm by itself and does not fall while walking. Otherwise, wiping over it is not valid if it falls and exposes part of the foot.
