Is the death of a young man, who was my age and shared my interests, a divine message urging me to repent quickly?

Death is a divine decree and destiny ordained by Allah for every soul. It is the greatest motivator for a Muslim to reflect upon oneself, repent to Allah, and prepare to meet Him. Death is mentioned in the Holy Quran in thirty-five places, among which is the saying of Allah the Almighty: "Say, 'Indeed, the death from which you flee – it will surely meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do.'" The wise person should remember sudden death and not be deceived by well-being. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The most frequent in remembering death and the most prepared for it are the intelligent ones; they have gone with the honor of this world and the dignity of the Hereafter." Therefore, a Muslim should repent sincerely and adhere to the obligations of their religion before death overtakes them.
