What is the ruling on establishing a website that deals with the culture of an Arab country—including customs that may contradict Islamic law, arts that involve music, and tourist landmarks that may be relics of those who were tormented or contain statues—provided that no pictures of immodestly dressed women are published, and with the intention of knowledge rather than glorification or approval?

It is permissible to write about customs that involve transgressions and violations of Islamic law, and to report on them, as long as this is not accompanied by music or a visible violation of Islamic law, or an affirmation of the reprehensible, or رضا (assent) to it, or approval of it, or beautification of it, or an invitation to it. It is preferable to emphasize that whatever among those customs contradicts Islamic law must be abandoned.
