Did the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, marry Aisha, may God be pleased with her, when she was a minor or an adult? If she was an adult, how can the incident of her playing with dolls be used to infer that playing with dolls or watching cartoons is for young children? And was the age of adolescence referred to as a young child at that time?

The Prophet (peace be upon him) consummated his marriage with Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) when she was nine years old. She was playing on a swing with her friends, but she had reached the age of maturity for women and was fit for marriage and its implications. Aisha continued to play with dolls in the Prophet's house even after her marriage. Scholars have agreed on the permissibility of this for young girls, but not for adult women. They have used this as evidence for the permissibility of marrying a minor, indicating that she was not yet an adult at that time.
