What is the reality of the hadiths concerning the rivers Sayhan and Jayhan, and the hadith of Sulayman ibn Dawud (peace be upon him) which mentions that he went around to a hundred women in one night, and which are found in Sahih al-Bukhari, and which are used by atheists to attack the religion?

The responses of scholars have varied regarding how to reconcile the hadith about the rivers of Paradise and the reality of their earthly source. Some believe that the origin and substance of these rivers are from Paradise, while others hold that they resemble the rivers of Paradise in their sweetness and blessing, or that faith inundated their lands. Ibn Kathir and Ibn Hazm ruled out the idea of them coming from Paradise, emphasizing that the resemblance refers to their qualities and blessing, and that hadiths describing things as being from Paradise or Hell indicate their merit or harm.

As for the hadith about the circumambulation of the Prophet Solomon (peace be upon him), it is not considered contrary to reason except by those who deny karamat (miracles performed by saints) and mu'jizat (miracles performed by prophets). Allah has indeed endowed some of His creation with abilities that exceed the capacity of ordinary humans. The objection regarding the time for worship and managing the state is not valid, as there is nothing in the hadith to indicate that this was a recurring habit. The objection regarding the "mathematical calculation" is dispelled by changing the time allocated for intercourse, or by noting the variations in narrations regarding the number of women. The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta' responded to the claim that the hadith contradicts reason by citing the variation in human strength and the ability of prophets, which makes the matter possible. Some scholars believe that the intention was to circumambulate them starting from that night, and it may have taken several nights.
