Is there a sin upon the wife for informing her family and his family about her husband's drinking and his gatherings, and does that affect the reward for her patience?

A drunkard is not fit, and despite your marriage to him and having children, we advise you of the following:

1. Advise him by explaining that drinking alcohol is a grave sin, citing Quranic verses and Prophetic Hadiths that condemn the drinker of alcohol and explain his punishment, such as the Almighty's saying: (O you who have believed, indeed intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing to] stone altars, and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful), and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Every intoxicant is unlawful, and indeed, Allah has made a promise to whoever drinks intoxicants that He will make him drink from the mud of Khabal." Along with reminding him that the prayer of a drunkard is not accepted for forty mornings.

2. Try to keep him away from bad companions.

3. Supplicate for his guidance.

4. Remind him of death and meeting Allah, with the permissibility of informing your family and his sister about what he is doing to seek help in removing the evil, for "Slandering is not backbiting in six cases... And for one who shows open transgression, and a seeker of fatwa, and one who seeks help in removing an evil."
