Does sin fall upon both the grandfather and the father, or upon the grandfather only, due to the grandfather disinheriting his daughters? And does sin fall upon the sons because of what happened? And are they obligated to return any part of the land to their paternal aunts? And is it correct for the son to return all that he inherited from his father to his paternal aunts' children as an act of repentance on behalf of his father? And how should the inheritance be distributed? And is there any action that is recommended to gain Allah's pleasure for both the father and the son?

The grandfather erred and committed a sin by preferring males over females in the gift or bequest, and anyone who approved of this also sins. This bequest is considered void because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No bequest to an heir," and he also said: "Fear Allah and be just among your children."

If the grandfather wrote the land over to the father and made it contingent upon his death, then the inheritance must be divided according to Islamic law, and this bequest is of no consequence.

However, if the grandfather handed over the land to the father during his lifetime, it is an unjust gift, and the father is religiously obligated to return it. If he does not return it, then you are religiously obligated to return the remaining land to its rightful beneficiaries. There is no blame upon you for what your father previously sold, and you should seek forgiveness for your father from your paternal aunts.
