Was the man not compelled to offer a fly as a sacrifice, as stated in the Hadith: "A man entered Paradise for a fly, and a man entered Hell for a fly...", and he was coerced into it, in accordance with the verse: "except for one who is forced [to recant] while his heart is at ease with faith"?

This narration from Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) was authenticated by Al-Albani as mawquf (stopped at the Companion). The narration contradicts the legal texts that excuse someone under duress. This contradiction can be clarified in three ways:

1. The narration is from the Isra'iliyyat (Jewish traditions) that Salman received, and it is not a legal proof nor does it contradict the Quran. 2. If the narration is authentic, it is from the law of those before us, which our law abrogated by excusing someone under duress. 3. The man did not disbelieve due to duress, but rather because he did not reject polytheism in his heart and took it lightly.
