Is it permissible for a girl's father to force her to wear an abaya, especially since she prefers to wear wide trousers and long shirts that reach the knee?

The hijab is an obligation upon Muslim women according to the texts of the Quran and Sunnah. It is obligatory for her whether her parents command her to wear it or not. Her parents are responsible for her before Allah, and they have the right to compel her to wear it. They would be sinful if they do not do so. A Muslim woman must be proud of her religion and confident in herself, and she should be a role model for good, not imitate others in what displeases Allah. She should feel that she is walking the path of truth with righteous believing women, and not feel isolated due to the scarcity of those treading this path. She can seek out good students who can be a support for her, or she can influence them and be a cause for their righteousness, thereby earning a great reward.
