What is the meaning of "baseness of character" from which the Messengers, peace and blessings be upon them, were protected concerning the minor sins that indicate it?

Scholars are in agreement that prophets are infallible in conveying the message and in not committing major sins. As for minor sins, these may occur from them due to their human nature, but Allah grants them success in repenting from them, as happened with David, Moses, and Muhammad, peace be upon them. However, base character traits such as betraying trusts and treachery do not emanate from prophets, for they are characterized by noble morals, and it is not fitting for a prophet to have deceitful eyes.
