- What are the permissible, obligatory, and impossible attributes of messengers and prophets?

The obligatory attributes of Messengers and Prophets are: truthfulness (Al-Sidq), trustworthiness (Al-Amanah), intelligence (Al-Fatanah), and conveying the message (Al-Tabligh) (this last one is specific to Messengers). The impossible attributes are their opposites: lying, treachery, dullness, and concealment. As for the permissible attributes, they are all those human characteristics they can possess, such as marriage and being afflicted by ordinary, non-repugnant illnesses.
