If someone dies and they did not pray, do they inherit?

If a person who abandons prayer dies without repenting, he is considered a major disbeliever (kufr akbar) if his abandonment was due to a denial of its obligation, by the consensus of Muslims. In this case, he neither inherits nor is inherited from. However, if he abandoned it out of laziness or negligence, he is considered a minor disbeliever (kufr asghar) which does not expel him from the fold of Islam according to the majority of scholars. In this case, he inherits and is inherited from, and the rulings pertaining to Muslims apply to him.
