What is the ruling on marriage in a house built with usurious money borrowed by the father?
Borrowing with interest is forbidden usury (riba), and both the lender and the borrower are equally sinful. The father should fear Allah and abandon the intention of taking a usurious loan. The son should advise him with wisdom and good admonition, explaining the prohibition of usury. If the father insists on the loan, he bears the sin, and there is no blame on the son for marrying or living in the dwelling that the father will build with the usurious loan money. If the father bought a house with a usurious loan and gifted it to you, there is no harm in accepting it, and he bears the sin of the loan. However, if the usurious loan is in your name, it is not permissible for you to complete it if it has not been completed. If it has been completed, you must repent from it and return the borrowed money without interest if possible. If you are compelled to pay the usury, then pay it, and the house will be yours.
