What is the interpretation of hearing an inner voice that distorts the verses of the Quran and the remembrance of Allah, and will Allah hold one accountable for it if it does not cease with seeking refuge (with Allah), and should one stop acts of worship because of it?

This statement does not expel the questioner from the religion as long as it did not originate from her. She can consult psychiatrists or well-known ruqyah practitioners, as this might be from jinn. The solution is not to abandon dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and recitation, but rather to preserve them, as they lead to success, repel Satan, and serve as a fortress against him. Allah Almighty says: "and remember Allah much that you may be successful," and He says: "And when you recite the Qur'an, We put between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter a concealed partition." The non-responsiveness of supplication does not mean that the voice is not from Satan; it might be due to a lack of presence of heart or a lack of certainty in the response.
