Is the presence of personal photos and children's photos, in addition to something resembling a small goat's horn, in the possession of a non-Muslim maid, considered evidence of sorcery?

The issue of the presence of domestic helpers in general should be considered, as reality shows that the widespread nature of this phenomenon leads to many corruptions, including:

1. Harming sons and daughters when their upbringing is entrusted to domestic helpers.

2. Encouraging mothers to leave the home, which contradicts the objectives of Islamic law.

3. Causing women to become lethargic and lazy.

4. Leaving domestic helpers with adolescents, which leads to committing immoral acts.

5. Children growing up with destructive beliefs and ideas if the domestic helper is a disbeliever.

Therefore, the Sharia (definition)-compliant guidelines for employing a domestic helper must be followed:

1. She must be Muslim.

2. She should be brought with her mahram (definition) or husband.

3. Observing Sharia boundaries regarding not being in seclusion (khalwa (definition)) or mixing (ikhtilat).

4. Not entrusting them with the upbringing of children.

As for the disbelieving domestic helper, it is not unlikely that she would do everything that harms a Muslim, based on the Almighty's saying: "They do not observe in a believer any pact or tie of kinship. And it is they who are the transgressors." (Quran 9:10). Circumstantial evidence suggests the possibility of her attempting to perform magic. Therefore, she must be dismissed so that the homeowner can be at ease.
