Is the deterioration of our affairs due to an evil eye (hasad) or sorcery (sihr) from the housemaid, and what should we do about it, or is it a test or reckoning from Allah, with which she has no connection?

It is not permissible to accuse a maid of sorcery based on mere suspicion, because an accusation requires clear evidence and manifest proof, especially since sorcery is among the hidden matters. It is advisable to seek treatment with Ruqyah Sharia (Islamic exorcism). If it is proven that the maid has performed sorcery, then one can demand their right through lawful means. It is preferable to do without maids due to the known harm they cause, unless there is an urgent necessity. When there is a need, one should choose a maid of good character and religiosity. One must be patient and persevere in obedience, for tribulation descends only due to disobedience and is not lifted except through repentance.
