Is it permissible to name a girl "Malak," and what is required to change the name?

Naming a child Malik (King) is not permissible because it implies a commendation that is forbidden by Islamic law. Changing the name does not necessitate a sacrifice or anything else, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, changed the names of some companions and did not command them to offer a sacrifice.
