Is the name "Marwa" acceptable for a girl, and is it permissible to change it Islamically?

The basic principle concerning names is permissibility. Therefore, a name should not be changed except out of necessity. There is no harm in naming a child "Marwa". A name should not be changed without a reason. As for names mentioned in the Quran, the basic principle is that it is permissible to use them, unless they contain a prohibition, such as the names of Surahs (Bara'ah, Duha), or an ugly meaning (Ramim), or an exaggeration (Iman, Taqwa (definition)). The aqiqah (definition) (sacrifice for a newborn) should not be delayed without necessity, and there is no correlation between choosing the name and sacrificing the aqiqah.
