Did the divorce take place based on the two aforementioned oaths, especially since the wife answered believing herself to be truthful, and does the repetition of an oath of divorce conditional on a single matter in different sittings count as one divorce or more?

If the wife tells her husband the truth and conceals nothing from him, then no divorce occurs by his oath. As for repeatedly conditioning divorce on a single matter without intending to reiterate the divorce, only one divorce occurs thereby. Conditioning divorce without intending to effect it is a matter of scholarly disagreement; the majority of scholars hold that it takes effect, while Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah is of the opinion that it is an oath for which expiation of an oath is due upon breaking it. It is advised to avoid swearing by divorce.
