The assertion that Aminah did not carry anyone other than the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and that her statement was an exaggeration, is a weak opinion. To infer from Aminah’s words that she committed indecency is a calumny, indicative of foolishness and malicious intent, because zina (fornication/adultery) was not characteristic of free women, and Quraish did not impugn the Prophet’s lineage despite their enmity towards him. Muslims believe that Allah has favored them by sending a Prophet whose lineage, truthfulness, trustworthiness, and chastity they recognize. This calumny is easily spread by Christian detractors due to the Jews’ impugning of Jesus's lineage, and because they do not absolve prophets from indecencies. This impugnment has no relation to scientific investigation; rather, it stems solely from a desire to slander, and many who repeat this falsehood know of their mendacity.
