Is there an authentic Hadith stating that the Prophet (peace be upon him) combined two prayers without an excuse?

Allah has ordained the prayers at specific times, and it is not permissible to perform them outside these times except for an excuse such as travel or illness. The majority of scholars prohibit combining prayers without an excuse, while some permit it if it is not made a habit, citing the hadith of Ibn Abbas that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, combined the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, and the Maghrib and Isha prayers in Madinah, without fear, travel, or rain. Many verified scholars are of the view that this combining was figurative, by performing Dhuhr at the very end of its time and Asr at the very beginning of its time. None of the reputable scholars have ever permitted combining prayers without an excuse on a regular basis. The time for Dhuhr extends from the sun's zenith until the shadow of everything becomes equal to its length.
