Is it permissible to work in a bookstore where music is played and women who are dressed but appear naked enter, which might tempt an unmarried young man, knowing that there is a possibility of working elsewhere?

We advise the young man to leave work in a place where he is exposed to temptations and to seek another job where he can be safe from misguidance. However, if he does not find one and is compelled to work there, he must adhere to the rulings and manners of Islam, such as lowering his gaze and refraining from speaking with women except for work-related necessities and only to the extent of that need. If he can turn off the music, he should; otherwise, he must turn away from it and avoid listening to it. Merely hearing it without intending to listen carries no sin.
