What is the distance that permits passing in front of a worshipper?

A Muslim must be keen to take a sutrah in prayer. Some scholars have gone as far as to say it is obligatory, and a severe warning has been reported for one who passes in front of a praying person. Scholars have differed regarding the precise distance for passing if no sutrah is present. Some have opined that it is determined by custom, while others have stated it is three cubits from the worshiper's standing place, or the distance a sheep could pass from their place of prostration, which is the legal measure for the sutrah.
