Is it permissible to make up missed prayers over a period of three years? Are the proposed lashings sufficient as a punishment for adultery and drinking alcohol? Does repentance waive the punishment? How should missed Ramadan fasts be made up? And must people's money be returned directly or indirectly?

Praise be to Allah who has guided you to repentance. The first advice is to conceal what has transpired concerning yourself. If sincere repentance is complete, then Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful. Flogging is not a condition for repentance. As for the money taken unlawfully, your repentance is not complete until it is returned to its rightful owners. As for prayer and fasting, make up for them in any way that clears your conscience. Expiation for fasting is only required for sexual intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan (definition). The Malikis hold the view of feeding sixty poor people for each day you deliberately broke your fast. If you engaged in sexual intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan while fasting, its expiation is to fast for two consecutive months.
