What is the way to get rid of oppression, depression, and low self-confidence, resulting from mistreatment by a brother and a father?
The suffering of injustice is painful, especially from relatives, but a Muslim knows it is a trial for expiation of sins and elevation of ranks. The injustice you endure from your father, his wife, and your brother indicates the devil's takeover, and you erred in cutting ties with them. Continue to maintain kinship with them and seek your reward from Allah, for Allah supports those who maintain ties. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "If you are as you say, then you are feeding them hot ashes, and you will continue to have a supporter from Allah against them as long as you persist in this." Repel [evil] with what is better, for by it, an enemy will become a devoted friend, and none attains this except those who are patient and those of great fortune. Continue to advise them, point out their errors, and supplicate for them. As for depression and loss of confidence, their cause lies in worries, and their cure is in contentment with Allah's decree, maintaining remembrance [dhikr] and supplications like the supplication: "O Allah, I am Your servant, and the son of Your servant," occupying your time with seeking knowledge and da'wah, and abandoning excessive looking, speaking, socializing, eating, and sleeping.
