1. Is it obligatory to intend wiping over the khuffayn before beginning wudu’, or is it permissible to wipe or wash upon reaching the washing of the feet during wudu’? 2. If a person performs wudu’ and wipes over their khuffayn, then immediately after wiping remembers that the permitted period for wiping has expired, should they remove their khuffayn and wash their feet, or remove their khuffayn and repeat wudu’ anew?

Intention is not a prerequisite for the permissibility of wiping over the khuffayn (leather socks). Whoever wears them while in a state of ritual purity is permitted to wipe over them during ablution, without a prior intention for wiping or for the duration. If one wipes over their khuffayn and then immediately remembers that the permitted duration has expired, it suffices for them to remove the khuffayn and wash their feet only. However, if they remember this after a long time has passed since completing their ablution, then they must repeat their ablution and wash their feet.
