Was Umm Hani a mahram to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and why was he taken on the Night Journey and Ascension from her house?

Umm Hani' was not among the Prophet's mahram relatives (those with whom marriage is forbidden). He proposed to her after she embraced Islam, but her husband did not. However, she excused herself due to her old age and because she had children. It has not been established that the Prophet, peace be upon him, was sleeping in her house on the night of the Isra' (Night Journey). Rather, he was in his own house in Mecca. The narrations that mention him staying overnight at her place on the night of the Isra' and Mi'raj (Ascension) have weak chains of transmission due to the presence of narrators who are matruk (abandoned) or liars. Furthermore, some of these narrations contradict what was narrated by Umm Hani' herself, namely that the Isra' originated from the Sacred Mosque (Masjid al-Haram).
