What is the ruling on a man who is diligent in worship but owns land, deposits money in the bank, and takes interest?

Allah Almighty commanded prayer and zakat and prohibited usury in the same Quranic context, which obligates a Muslim to obey Him in both. One who strives in worship is more deserving of avoiding the unlawful, especially usury, which is among the greatest prohibitions. Consuming the unlawful prevents the acceptance of supplications, as stated in the Prophetic Tradition. Therefore, worship should be a motivation to abandon the unlawful, for prayer forbids indecency and evil.
