Do past experiences prevent one from embracing Islam, and what is the ruling on relationships with women before Islam?

It is expected that whoever follows the true religion will have this religion affect their self and character, shaping their personality anew and transforming their life onto a different path from what it was. This transformation creates morals and values that were not present, bringing about a purification of the heart and chastity of the soul, which makes the new Muslim look with disgust at what they used to do in the past. This is indicated by the words of Allah the Almighty: ﴿And is he who was dead and We gave him life and made for him light by which to walk among the people like he who is in darknesses, never to emerge therefrom?﴾, and His words, the Almighty: ﴿And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever does that will meet a penalty. ۝ The punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in humiliation. ۝ Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous deeds; for them Allah will change their evil deeds into good ones. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.﴾ (25:68-70). Among the historical evidences are the story of Marthad ibn Abi Marthad, who refrained from fornication after embracing Islam, and the story of the prostitute woman who repented after Islam. Thus, whoever's Islam is good and adheres to the Sharia will not find difficulty in overcoming sins, and marriage is a means for them to achieve chastity.
