What is the ruling on playing computer games with cracked protection if no other permissible means of entertainment are available, and is it permissible to play them with this intention?

It is not permissible to crack game protections, nor to play games whose protections have been cracked. This is because it constitutes an infringement on the rights of their owners, and intellectual property rights are protected by Islamic law. The absence of other permissible means of entertainment is not a justification for committing what is forbidden.
