What is your advice to a young man over thirty years of age who possesses the financial means to marry, but suffers from shyness, a love of solitude, and a lack of experience in dealing with others, and is deterred from pursuing marriage by his lack of success in his professional life, along with his desire to devote himself to seeking sacred knowledge, and society's view of someone like him? And should he marry a girl who has accepted him despite knowing his circumstances?
The believer should benefit from every experience and be characterized by optimism and good opinion of Allah. Shyness is praiseworthy if it is modesty stemming from faith, but blameworthy if it leads to shortcomings in duties. It must be overcome by mingling with people, enjoining good, and forbidding evil. Laziness in work is blameworthy, and eating from the earnings of one's own hand is better. Seeking religious knowledge is a great virtue, provided there is sincerity, عمل (acting upon it), and spreading it. Refraining from marriage despite being able to is contrary to the Sunnah. One should hasten to marry a woman of faith after performing Istikhara and relying upon Allah.
