Is it permissible to add hair extensions for the purpose of lengthening hair, provided that this is declared and there is no deception or falsification?

It was authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "May Allah curse the one who attaches hair extensions and the one for whom they are attached." And in it, he rebuked the one who attaches hair extensions and the one for whom they are attached when a woman came asking him about attaching hair extensions to her daughter's hair, whose head was falling out and whose husband was urging her to do it. From this curse, scholars deduced the absolute prohibition of women attaching hair extensions to their hair with anything else, even if there was an excuse. The majority of scholars are of the opinion that hair extensions are forbidden, regardless of their type, even if they are not made of hair, such as wool, due to the generality of the prohibition. Al-Layth ibn Sa'd differed, seeing the permissibility of attaching extensions with wool and rags, citing the hadith of Mu'awiyah as evidence. Therefore, one must repent from attaching hair extensions and not return to it. For if necessity permitted hair extensions, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would have allowed it, and there is no good in what Allah Almighty has forbidden.
