Why is Friday considered the best day in the sight of Allah?

Friday is the best of days. Two hadiths from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, have been reported concerning its virtues. In it, Adam was created and in it he died; in it is the Blowing [of the Trumpet] and the Swoon; and in it he was admitted to Paradise and expelled from it. It is also distinguished by the occurrence of the Friday prayer therein and the presence of the hour of acceptance [of supplication]. Allah, in His perfect wisdom, favors some days, months, and people over others.
