What is the ruling on reading from the Mushaf during Tarawih prayer?

There is no harm in reading from theaf in prayer, as the Companions and their successors did, and it is the view of the majority of jurists. As for some people's objection that holding the Mus'haf and turning its pages constitutes excessive movement, this is incorrect, given the authentic narration that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed with the people while carrying Umamah bint Zaynab, his granddaughter.
