What is the ruling on holding the Mushaf to follow the Imam in Tarawih prayer?

Carrying the Mushaf (copy of the Qur’an) during prayer is contrary to the Sunnah in several ways: it prevents placing the right hand over the left, leads to many unnecessary movements, distracts the worshipper, and diverts one's gaze from the place of prostration. Moreover, the person doing so might forget that they are in prayer.
