How is the inheritance divided among the wife, the three daughters, and the six full sisters?

If the deceased has no male heirs other than his wife, daughters, and sisters, they all inherit from him. The distribution of the inheritance is as follows: The daughters receive two-thirds as a prescribed share, according to the Almighty's saying: "But if there are [only] daughters, two or more, for them is two-thirds of what he left." [An-Nisa: 11]. His wife receives one-eighth as a prescribed share, according to the Almighty's saying: "But if you have a child, for them is an eighth of what you left, after any bequest you [may have] made or debt." [An-Nisa: 12]. What remains after the daughters' and wife's shares goes to the sisters by ta'sib (residuary inheritance), because they do not inherit a prescribed share with the daughters but rather take the remainder, as Ibn Abi Zayd al-Maliki said: "And if there are daughters, the sisters are residuary heirs with them." It must be noted that matters of inheritance are serious and complex and cannot be settled by a fatwa (definition) alone. Rather, they must be referred to the Sharia (definition) courts for investigation and to ensure that there are no other heirs, bequests, or debts that take precedence over the heirs' rights.
