Do five divorces occur by saying "I divorce you" discontinuously, and repeating the word "I divorce you" five times with the intention of frightening the wife, while not remembering the intention of a single divorce?

For a marriage to be valid, it must be officiated by the woman's guardian (wali) or his agent, in the presence of two Muslim witnesses. The woman's guardian hierarchy is: her father, then his father (paternal grandfather), then her son, then their sons (grandsons), then her full brother (from both parents), then her half-brother (from the father only), then their sons (nephews), then paternal uncles, then their sons (cousins), then the paternal uncles of the father, then the ruler (Sultan). If the woman does not have a Muslim guardian, the Sharia (definition) judge performs the marriage. If no Sharia judge is available, someone with a prominent status among Muslims, such as the Imam of the mosque, may officiate. Otherwise, any righteous Muslim man can officiate with her permission.

Marriage via phone or internet is valid if the two witnesses hear both parties and there is no fear of manipulation. If a man says to his wife, "You are divorced three times" or "five times," according to the most preponderant opinion, this constitutes a single divorce. If the husband says, "I divorce you" (using the present tense, which can also imply future intent), if he means, "I divorce you now," the divorce takes place. If he means, "I will divorce you in the future," the divorce does not take place until he actually pronounces it later.

If the man's intent in saying "I divorce you" was to effect a divorce, then one irrevocable divorce has occurred. If they wish to reconcile, they must enter into a new marriage contract, and two divorces remain available to them.
