Is it permissible for a woman to take from her husband's money, which he left with her, to spend on their children, one of whom is ill, knowing that the husband is miserly and will not give her the money after divorce?

A father must provide for his wife and his children, whether young or old, who are unable to earn a living. No one is permitted to take money from the father without his permission. If the wife leaves her husband's home without his permission, her right to maintenance is forfeited. In case of dispute, wise individuals should mediate to ascertain the children's needs and determine the maintenance from the husband's wealth. If the father refuses to spend on his son's necessary medical treatment, and his need is established, the wife may take from his money what is sufficient for that, though it is preferable for mediators to handle this to prevent conflict. It was narrated that Hind bint Utbah took from her husband Abu Sufyan's money what was sufficient for her and her son, in a reasonable manner, and the Prophet permitted her to do so.
