Is it sufficient to wash a vessel with water only after a dog has licked from it to remove the substance of impurity, or is it obligatory to wash it seven times, one of them with earth, to purify it?

The preponderant opinion is that a vessel licked by a dog is only purified by washing it seven times, one of which is with earth, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The purification of the vessel of one of you, when a dog licks it, is to wash it seven times, one of which is with earth." If the physical impurity of the dog is removed, but its ruling remains, this ruling does not transfer, and the vessel is not considered a source for the transfer of impurity.
