What is the ruling on wearing artificial eyelashes for a specific period, knowing that people are aware they are artificial?

It is impermissible to wear artificial eyelashes merely for adornment, due to their nature as extensions and an impermissible alteration of Allah's creation, even if people know they are artificial. However, it is permissible to wear them out of necessity, such as for an injury or an unusual disfigurement.
