Is the marriage of a woman who committed adultery with a man, then married him after their repentance and after ensuring the womb is clear, valid in Islamic law, considering there are previous fatwas that permit this from some Companions such as Ibn Mas'ud and Aisha, then later fatwas that reject this opinion and attribute to them the prohibition of marrying an adulteress to the man with whom she committed adultery?

Marrying an unchaste woman is permissible if she repents, and this has been ruled upon repeatedly. The opposing view to that of the majority is the one that stipulates repentance. The questioner is advised not to allow Satan a path to spoil her life, to be reassured of the validity of her marriage, and to be a good companion to her husband. The narrations mentioned from Aisha and Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with them, refer to the period before repentance.
