How can God's blessings and perpetual gratitude be reconciled with distancing oneself from God and being inconsistent in prayer, and is this considered hypocrisy?

Gratitude for blessings is not expressed by the tongue alone, but by expending them in ways that please Allah and avoiding that which displeases Him. Beware of Allah's wrath and retribution, for Allah may grant a servant respite due to His wisdom, but nothing can withstand His anger. Allah Almighty says: "That is because Allah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves. And indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing" (Al-Anfal: 53). The door of repentance is open, so the servant should turn to his Lord, fearful and hopeful, and renew his covenant with Allah to adhere to His Sharia. That is the path to happiness and success in this world and the Hereafter. The danger of neglecting prayer is very great, so the servant should strive to exert himself in obedience, associate with the righteous, and supplicate to Allah for steadfastness in His religion, for "As for those who strive hard in Our cause, We shall surely guide them to Our paths; and indeed, Allah is with those who do good" (Al-Ankabut: 69).
