How does the servant act or what does he do for God to change the gradual drawing out (istidraj) of blessings into blessings of goodness, if the servant feels that the blessings granted to him are a gradual drawing out despite his sins?

It is obligatory for a servant to thank Allah for His blessings, and he must know that Allah increases His bounty for those who are grateful. If he persists in a sin from which he fears istidraj (being gradually led astray), then he must abandon it and hasten to sincere repentance, for sins remove blessings and bring misfortunes. A servant's fear of istidraj is a sign of his heart's vitality, so he must rectify himself and safeguard blessings with more gratitude, supplication, and a good opinion of Allah, while combining fear and hope, and having a bad opinion of himself but a good opinion of Allah.
