ما هي سنن الصيام؟
Fasting is a great act of worship, whose reward is with Allah, and it is one of the pillars of the religion. It has many sunnahs, including: responding to ill-treatment with kindness by saying, "Indeed, I am fasting," taking the pre-dawn meal (suhoor), hastening to break the fast and delaying the suhoor, breaking the fast with fresh dates, dried dates, or water, and saying, "Thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills," upon breaking the fast. It is recommended for the fasting person to make abundant supplications, for the supplication of the fasting person is not rejected. In Ramadan, it is recommended to sit in mosques for Quran recitation, to perform i'tikaf (spiritual retreat) during the last ten days, to perform the Tarawih prayer, to give abundant charity and do good deeds, and to study the Quran. The fasting person must not waste their time on what is not beneficial, and their concern should not be food and drink.
